Welcome to
Project Kiwi Trust

Project Kiwi Trust is a kiwi conservation initiative saving North Island brown kiwi on the Kuaotunu Peninsula, near Whitianga on the Coromandel's east coast. Supporters, donations and sponsorship all play a key role in ensuring the future success of both the Trust and New Zealand's national icon.

Kiwi

Currently, the wild population of kiwi halves every decade. This is serious population decline. Older breeding kiwi are at risk from attack from dogs and ferrets, and young chicks are not surviving to take their place.
